Hello! My name is Paul Lewis. I am a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a practice dedicated to treating a full range of orthopedic conditions as well as specializing in sports-related injuries and joint replacement surgeries. Oakland Orthopedic Institute is the practice I created in 2018.
My journey to orthopedic surgery was a long one. I completed four years of undergraduate education at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, obtaining my Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in 1986. I went on to complete four years of medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, obtaining my Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in 1991. My orthopedic training began with my internship year at Beaumont Farmington Hills, which I completed in 1992, and four years of residency training at Garden City Hospital, which I completed in 1996. It was important to be to further specialize in sports medicine, which I did with a one year orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
I am repeatedly reminded how incredible my patients are and humbled by their trust in me. It is important to me that I am able to serve my community and continue to form lasting relationships with my patients, their family, and their friends. As such, I wanted to create this website in order to connect and communicate with patients, returning and new.
We recently transitioned to a new office in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It is my hope that I will be able to serve the Rochester Hills community and surrounding communities by providing exceptional patient care. I invite you to connect with me on this website, on Facebook via the "Paul C Lewis, DO FAAOS" business page and "Oakland Orthopedic Institute" business page, and by contacting my office at 248-963-4205. I look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!
